We are running a new Singles Box League for everyone in the Club!
Sign-up and then arrange your own matches in your own time. Courts are also available on Monday evenings.
Play three matches per month (can be played on the same day), then you stay, move up or move down a box, depending on the result.
First to 10 games by 2 clear, normal tiebreak at 10 all.
N.b. You can sign-up at any point, even after the league has started.
Anyone can enter, regardless of standard, in order to guarantee some regular, fun singles games. The leagues will eventually result in boxes with players of the same standard, ensuring a challenge of a suitable level for all entrants.
You may also enter as a pre-formed box.

Chesham 1879 Tennis Singles Box League Rules
Match Format
· 10 minute warm up.
· First to 10 games by 2 clear, normal tiebreak at 10 all.
· In your box of 4 (5) people you will play your 3 (4) opponents over a 4 week period.
· The highest total games will be the winner of the Box.
· The winner of the box will where possible move up a division for the next Box for the next four-week session.
· The lowest total games will where possible move down a division for the next four-week session.
· The 2 players who finished 2nd and 3rd in the Box will stay in the same division.
Scheduling
· Please arrange your own schedules by phoning or emailing your opponents. Courts will be available for the League on Mondays from 7pm and other times – please see courts schedules. Please be considerate to other pre-arranged matches and coaching which may also be occuring. You must play all your games within the four weeks.
Forfeits and reschedules
· If you cannot make your fixture and don’t want to reschedule your match, or your opponent cannot find a time to play, you will be required to forfeit your match. Please remember that your opponent has entered because they want a game! Give them as much notice as possible. If you cannot re-schedule, your match will result in a 10-0 loss.
Results/Prizes
· The overall winner will receive a prize at the end of the season!
