Here are more details on club and court usage as promised:
Latest Coronavirus "Rules" expanding our usage of the club
The LTA have today updated their instructions for tennis clubs following the Prime Minister’s next phase of the relaxation of Lockdown.
From 1st June the new LTA instructions are as follows:
Limit activities to court usage (members) and coaching activity for groups of no more than six people
Encourage players not to congregate on or around the court before and after play
Players should bring their own equipment - including tennis balls
Venues should continue to liaise with their coach(es) to ensure an approach to activity is agreed that is feasible to deliver safely, and how coaches can be supported to deliver lessons and group sessions
Tennis and Social at 1879 from Monday 1st June
Doubles play is now permitted between people from different households.
Maintain the 2m social distancing at all times during entry / exit to courts and during play.
Use your own balls when you are serving - clearly mark them so it's easy for all to know which are yours.
Members can organise singles and doubles with all members from the club. Guests are also permitted on a pay per play basis as per our previous rules
We are still using the court booking system so please ensure that you book a court before playing.
Our coach Nick Brooks is actively working on individual coaching and planning the way forward with group coaching and has sent the following message to you
1879 Club Chairman
As you will have seen, it is great news that we can start offering group coaching sessions again for adults and children. We will be allowed to run coaching sessions of 5 players and a coach on the court at anyone time which does provide us with plenty of flexibility. I will be finalising plans for all options this week with an aim to get coaching sessions running ASAP and within the social distancing guidelines. Thank you to all who have supported myself, Guy and Fin with lessons in the reintroduction of individual lessons in the last three weeks. It has been great to be back on court.’
